Comments: This series of images focuses on a variety of aspects of Lima, Perú, from the surrouding context to the central downtown square. The humanities purpose of these images is to see the two main sites there: the cathedral and the government (presidential) building. The statue of the conquistador Francisco Pizarro was in this plaza until the immediate past president had it removed. In addition to this purpose, however, it is important to consider some of the larger aspects of the capital of modern Perú. The sequence of these photos follows a kind of narrative lecture.
