Comments: Here you see Lima's river, the río Rímac, which descends from the mountains to the west and flows almost due west where it empties into the Pacific Ocean. Needless to say, water is extremely scarce in Perú's capital, as, indeed, it is throughout all of Perú on the western side of the Andes.
