Comments: It is said this this is the largest bullring in the world notwithstanding Spaniards, who claim that the ring in Madrid is larger. Mexico's stadium holds up to 50,000 spectators. This arena was inaugurated in 1946 by the famous matador Manolete (Manuel Rodríguez). Bullfighting remains very popular in Mexico and certain other Spanish-American countries such as Peru, Colombia, Ecuador, and Venezuela.
