Comments: Ringing the plaza de toros are bronze monuments celebrating famous matadors, such as Carlos Arruza (1920-1966), who was one of the greatest and bravest of all Mexican bullfighters. He was known as "El Ciclón" (Hurricane). Other matadors honored with statues around the arena are Juan Silvetti (Mexico), Joselillo (Spain), and Antonio Fuentes (Spain).
