Latin American humanities: Spanish colonial architecture.
Humanities question: Notice that the Spanish architectural elements seen here have been used extensively throughout Florida and the American Southwest as a prestigious style in the 20th and 21st centuries. Why? In St. Augustine as in the American Southwest, which was Spanish and Mexican territory until 1848, such so-called Spanish mission style is also a major tourist attraction. Why?
