Panoayán #2

Source: Photographs by WTL© on site in old Payoayán (left, c. 1990) and new Panoaya (right, 2009), outside Amecameca, México.
Image: On the left you see the way the bridge in front of the main Panoayán hacienda house looked circa 1990; this photo is looking back toward the main highway that runs between Amecameca (north, left) and Cuautla (south, right). In 1999, the hacienda was purchased by a private investor. On the land that you see beyond the bridge in the photo on the left, this investor established an amusement park called Hacienda Panoaya. With the profits he restored the hacienda, which you see in its pristine condition in the photo on the right, in which the professor-photographer is posing on the same bridge in 2009; behind him is the fully restored entrance to the main building.
