Comments: This series of images focuses on the Universidad Claustro de Sor Juana in downtown Mexico City. This university was, of course, the Hieronymite Convent of Santa Paula in which Sor Juana lived as a nun from 1669 until her death in 1695. Note that this urban university now is completely secular and enrolls students of any background, religious or not, and from all around the world. As we take this photographic tour, it is important to keep its dual nature in mind: it is a historical (humanities) monument, and at the same time it is a new Latin American University in the heart of Mexico City.
Humanities Questions: What is your view of you yourself studying in this setting, in this university? Note that you can take classes in English for non-Mexican students, so you can't say you can't imagine studying there just because you don't speak Spanish.
