It seeks to be an Institution dedicated to cutting-edge innovation by proposing new degree programs, paths of study, and teaching methods." The university (not the convent) was established in 1975. Classes began on this site in 1979. Programs of study include B.A.-level degrees in art, audiovisual communication, cultural administration, gastronomy, Latin American literature, psychology, philosophy, and masters degrees in humanities, Colonial culture, business administration for food and beverages, and performing arts production.
