Le Québec (34)

Source: Photograph by WTL© on site in autumn in Québec City.
Comment: A close-up view of the Basse-Ville, where the first permanent settlement in Nouvelle-France began. Here you see the Rue Petit-Champlain, from whence the tram takes you to the upper city, the Place Royale, the Notre-Dame-des-Victoires church, and above all the magnificent Museum of "la Civilisation." Note especially the architecture, which, throughout the city and the province of Québec, is derived mostly from Normandy and northwest France.
