Comments: The couple met in 1976 and never parted until his death in 2011. The moved into his place on Cherrier Street in the quintessentially French section of Montréal and they shared her place in Abercorn. By all accounts, of which you will find ample evidence in the selection of works in this series on Gauvreau, they shared a deep, mutual, and stimulating love for 35 years. That she was 26 years his junior did not seem to cause them pause.
