Comments: Sacsayhuaman was a walled complex that was probably a fortification. The irregular height of this and other long walls like it is due to the fact that the Spanish conquistadors took off the smaller stones at the top of the walls and used them to construct the Spanish colonial city they built after razing much of the Incas' capital of Kuskum. The longest of these walls is 1400 feet long, and the tallest is about 20 feet high. The largest of the shaped stones weigh between 130 and 200 tons.
