Humanities issues and questions: Remembering that this is the entrance to a sports stadium, can you identify bas relief sculptures of athletes? What kind of athletes are they? In what way do they seem modern? Identify some traditional Mexican images. What do they tell you about past and present humanities in Mexican culture? What similarities and differences can you discern between this image and images at the Maya-Toltec ball court? (See: Chichén Itzá #7, #8, #9, and #10). The three dark figures in the center are said to represent racial (ethnic) harmony represented by the Raza de Bronce (what does this concept mean?).
