Comments: Here you see a 17th century painting on display against a restored wall. The geometric design above the canvas was probably done by an Indian artist at the convent. The painting depicts Christ rising from a coffin with Roman soldiers, who, according to the bible, had been guarding the tomb; the soldiers are seen being scattered in amazement at the resurrection.
