Mérida (3)

Source: WTL photograph© taken on site in Mérida.
Notes: Turning around from the previous photo, we look across the beautiful plaza mayor and see two things: the Catedral de Mérida and a flagpole with the Mexican flag paralleling one of the cathedral's two bell towers. The possible confluence of government (Spanish/Mexican) and religion (Catholicism) struck me when I took this photo. The cathedral was constructed between 1561 and 1598.
