Comments: This sign says: "Danger. Crocodiles." It is standing in front of one of the remaining water reservoirs placed strategically around the Tikal city-state. Another sign next to this reservoir says: "The Maya constructed complicated canal networks that carried water from higher elevations to several kinds of reservoirs. The canals served the drainage system associate with the city's various plazas and groupings of buildings. A cement floor is all that has been needed to make this two-thousand year-old system function again."
