This modern antiqued reproduction (the cement is clearly not centuries old, right?) is meant to convey the idea of a tombstone (there are now no actual remains inside or below this slab) suggesting the fact that the following people were buried in this cathedral: Pedro de Alvarado (who was he?); his wife Beatriz de la Cueva; Bishop Marroquín (what did he do? hint: see an earlier image in this series); and none other than Bernal Díaz del Castillo (what did he do? for what major Latin American humanities item is he most notable?).

this particular series of images: What significance might there be in ending this series (Antigua 5 and 5a through 5n) with this particular image given its message (content)?
