Image: The central figure featured by all of the surrounding frame(s) is the archbishop who was chiefly responsible for organizing the creation and construction of this cathedral. The columns on either side of the statue of the bishop are known as baroque Solomonic columns.
Humanities questions: How do we know this statue represents an archbishop? What does it meant taht he is he flanked by so-called Solomonic columns? What does all of the fancy detail add to or detract from (however you may view it) the overall composition of this scene?
