Antigua (2)

Comments: The idea behind this photo is quadruple: (1) to present a relatively pleasing photo; (2) frame the Catedral de Santiago in a Renaissance-style arch; (3) suggest the close relationship between the city and the mountains ; and (4) show the layout of the cathedral on the east side of the Parque Central (suggested by the trimmed trees in the photo's lower right), the Palacio del Ayuntamiento (city hall) on park's north side, with a framing hint of this building's style; and the Palacio de los Capitanes (conquistadors' palace) on the south side (lower background right). The commercial side of the park's quadrangular Spanish-style main square is seen in : =>Antigua #12.
