Source: Photo by WTL© (2015) on board the Spanish Galleon in St. Augustine on September 8, 2015.
Image: The number of galleons in the fleet ranged from 10 to 70 ships. The galleons, which were fully loaded with European products of every kind, from wine to tools, to paper, to medicines, were armed and escorted by 8 warship galleons. Menéndez de Avilés's galleon, the San Pelayo, carried 10 cast iron cannons on each side; and it had two cast iron anchors of 800 Kg each.
Humanities Question: Nowadays this cannon does not fire in anger or defense, but in this photo it is pointed toward a condo and luxury yachts on Anastasia Island. Make some sense of this photo including the framing of the cannon.
