Image: The procession arrives at the Cathedral. The towers of Flagler College are in the far background, and the north side of the Government House is on the far left.
Comments: The placard in the middle of this image represents one of about ten placards carried by a small group of activists who were opposed to the 450th celebration altogether. This protester clearly demonstrates is view, though, interestingly, he was silent; he let his sign speak for him. The entrance to the church is at the far right. The women in dark glasses just behind the plumed-helmet knight was an official who checked credentials of those who had tickets to attend the high mass inside the Cathedral, as the two women at the far right are preparing to do. For the professor-photographer, this is a dynamic image that puts into one tight scene many of the elements of the celebration.
Humanities Question: (A) Name as many of the elements of the celebration as you have been studying it in the sequence of image up to this one, #14; then (B) tell what kind of humanities synthesis, if any, is contained in this image.
