Calle Ocho (2)

Source: Photograph (2009) by WTL©.
Comment: Stepping immediately behind the monument shown in Calle Ocho #1, we see this scene roughly in the middle of the Cuban Memorial Plaza in the middle of 13th Street. The statue in the center of this fence-enclosed memorial depicts a Cuban freedom fighter (from the point of view of the Cuban exile community). For a slight enlargement of the center of this photo see: => Calle Ocho #2a.
Humanities topic: Relate the style and content of what you see in this photo to two other aspects of Latin American history and humanities you have already studied in this course. (Hints: flags, statue of warrior/soldier, honored monument, two nationalities, etc.)
