Comments: The concert hall in the Gran Teatro de La Habana is one of the finest in the world although, under Cuba's current regime, there is insufficent funding to keep apace with needed repairs. Located on Paseo del Prado, this is the main stage for the Cuban National Ballet and the International Ballet Festival of Havana. In this photo we see a performance of one of the student contestants in the annual Cátedra de Danza (Dance Academy). In the same building are halls for concerts, conferences, classrooms, studios, and the like all dedicated to the dancing arts.
