Che Monument (1)

Source: Photograph (2010) at the Che Guevara Memorial (Conjunto Escultórico "Comandante Ernesto Che Guevara") by WTL© near Santa Clara, Cuba.
Comments: The whole site is called the Plaza de la Revolución. It was built (1988) to commemorate the 30th anniversay of the famous battle of Santa Clara, where Che and his forces (men and women) defeated forces loyal to the dictator Batista. The architect Jorge Cao Campos designed the site and the sculptures were created by José Delarra. The Che statue is in the middle. To the immediate left of the statue (as we look at the image) is a bas relief sculpture carved into the horizonal block. To the right is a monument with the words of the last and farewell letter Che sent to Fidel when Che left Cuba to continue the revolution in Bolivia (see: => Che Monument #3). Under the monument on the back side is a small Che museum. (A guard forbade the professor-photographer from taking even a picture of the entrance to the museum.) The remains of Che and 38 of his followers are entombed in a cave near the museum (their remains were repatriated to Cuba in 1997), and there is an eternal flame in the cave.
Humanities topics and questions: (A) Briefly describe what you see in this image in terms of a monument to Che Guevara, who is known in communist Cuba as the "héroe heroico (heroic hero);" (B) Compare and contrast the existence of an eternal flame (not photographed due to the guard's intervention as mentioned above) to the "eternal flame" of any other country you know about.
