Comment #2 bis: On the corner of the façade of the Metropolitan Cathedral opposite the eternal flame, Argentina has placed this commemorative plaque. It is dedicated to Lt. Col. Don Juan Domingo Perón (1895-1974). It says: "First citizen president of Argentina elected three timnes by the vast majority of the citizenry and standard-bearer for social justice, economic independence, and political sovereignty [erected by] the Friends of Perón Commemorative Commission on January 25, 1985." Perón was a "presidential dictator" from 1943 to 1955, when he went into exile. His wife was the charismatic and famous Eva (Evita) Perón.
