Comments: Here you see the Pyramid of the Sun (la pirámide del sol), the largest of Teotihuacan's pyramids. The second-largest pyramid at Teotihuacan is the Pyramid of the Moon. As a point of comparison, the Great Pyramid of Egypt is about twice the size of this pyramid, yet the Sun Pyramid is still huge. It is made of earth and adobe bricks, and it is covered with gravel and stone. When it was finished and in use it was covered with brightly painted (polychrome) stucco. This pyramid is 213 ft high (about 70 m). The sun, at its zenith, stands squarely in front of its main façade, which you see here.
