Comments: Now we stand before it in awe (admiratio), which is the idea and emotion it was built to inspire and which successive peoples have felt in its presence: teotihuacanos, toltecas, mexica, Spaniards, Mexicans, modern tourists. Originally (first finished phase), the Sun Pyramid had four levels. Later, it was reconstructed with a fifth level, which, I think, you can see here. (The steps at the bottom are not one of the pyramid's (sacred) levels.
