Le Québec (17)

Comments: In a sense Québec is a "European city in America." It is also a Latin American city in the sense that it is filled with statues in public places. The great Spanish sculptor Chillida (perhaps the world's greatest sculptor of the 20th centure) said that "sculpture defines space." Qu'en croyez-vous? The skyscraper in the background is the The fifteen-story Price Building, built in 1930. The Price brothers earned their forture in the paper industry. It is located on the Rue Ste-Anne, facing the l'Hôtel de Ville (city hall).
Humanities Questions: (A) What do you think about Chillida's idea? (B) In what ways does it contribute to a humanities understanding of Latin America?
