Object: This is a clay figurine about 8 inches high. It represents a man carrying a vase.
Comments: This figurine comes from the pre-conquest period of Inca culture (1400-1532) near Lima, Perú.
Humanities Questions: What is this man doing? Why are there so few Inca objets d'art in this series of images? To what do you attribute the fact that this clay piece is used to represent Inca art rather than something made out of gold or silver?
