Pre-Inca and Inca Art (9)

Source: WTL course archives.
Object: This is a gold ornament that represents the sun god (500 BCE - 500 CE). It is about 16 inches across (the photograph is cropped).
Comments: This is a golden religio-artistic object of the sun god that comes from the La Tolita culture near Mongoya, Ecuador, which is on the Pacific coast NW of Quito.
Humanities question: What is the relationship between this ornament from a pre-Inca culture and the Inca religion per se?
