Art Object: This ceremonial vessel from the Nazca culture is about two feet high in the Museo Nacional de Antropología y Arqueología in Lima, Peru.
Comments: Here is another piece from the Nazca civilization. It is decorated with mythological figures and what are called "trophy heads". This piece is typical of Nazca ceramics, which stand out for their use of color and design.
Humanities Question: To what degree does this vase fit the Latin American theme of horror vacui (see: => Latin American Terms).
