Comments: As the airplane beings to descend toward Cuzco, the ancient capital of the Inca Empire, we see how dry, rugged, and barren this mountainous region is. Imagine, for example, that you are (a) a modern Quechua, (b) an ancient Inca, or (c) a Spanish conquistador.
