Question: The name of this black Spanish colonial village and fort (during the second Spanish period) was know by the Spaniards as [la] Gracia Real de Santa Teresa de Mose and by the English as the Negroe (sic) Fort. What does it say to you that present-day Florida officials have called it simply Fort Mose?
