Comments: When Frida Kahlo was 15 she entered one of Mexico's best schools, the Preparatoria. She was among they very few girls at the school, where she fell in love with one of the most active of the boys. In 1925, she was the victim of an accident when a a trolley car smashed into the bus she was riding. Her injuries were severe: she broke her spinal column, collarbone, ribs, pelvis, and right leg; her right foot and her shoulder were dislocated; and a piece of iron railing pierced her stomach and her uterus. Due to this accident, she underwent 35 operations throughout the rest of her life.
