golden twenty-two foot bronze statue was sculpted by the Italian Enrique Alciati; it represented the figure of Nike, the Greek goddess of victory. It weights 7 tons, and it is covered with 24 karat gold. In the Angel's right hand is a laurel crown above Miguel Hidalgo's head. In the Angel's left hand is a broken chain.
Humanities questions: What do the laurel crown above Hidalgo's head and the broken chain symbolize?
