Anahuacalli (1)

Comments: This building designed by Diego Rivera as a residence, museum, and mausoleum for himself is located at Calle del Museo 150 in the San Pablo Tepetlapa neighborhood. It is hard to find, and it is located in what is now a fairly rough neighborhood. The professional Mexican driver who brought me here had never been here before, he nearly got lost in some unsavory places through no fault of his own, but we finally made it. As you can see by the chain link fence and the coiled barbed wire, it is not recommended for any but the most hearty travellers or photographer-researchers. In any case, notice the heavy stone style that Diego Rivera intended to be reminiscent of monumental pre-contact Mexican architecture.
