Comments: This is a modern recreation of a costumed Aztec warrior. It was created from an image in the Mendoza Códex. Generally speaking, the Spanish conquistadors were most impressed and they felt most threatened by Aztec warriors costumed in the way you see here. The Spanish soldiers were also immensely impressed by how accurate and deadly Aztec warriors and their javelins, which were so accurate and powerful that they could go clean through a horse.
