Comments: This is a polychrome urn representing Tláloc. It was created between 1427 and 1440. The Aztecs thought of Tláloc's head as being composed of two snakes entwined at the nose and mouth. Notice the snakes' fangs and the snakes' scales.
Humanities Question: Why, in your view, would snakes be featured in the Aztecs' representation of Tláloc?
