Comments: Photo in low light setting of the Stone Disk of Coyolxauhqui. In section IV of the Aztec Notes, reference is made to Coyolxauhqui. This giant carved polychrome stone is over 10 feet in diameter, it's a foot thick, and it weighs 8.5 tons. It represents the moon goddess (Coyolxauhqui), and it was carved in the 15th century C.E.
Humanities Question: Using the presentation of Coyolxauhqui in class, compare and contrast this stone disk with (A) the Stone of Tízoc and (B) the Aztec Sun Stone.
