Image: My Cholulteca driver is standing next to the monument that depicts (depicted) Cortés arriving at this place. My driver pointed out to me that there are bullet holes in the plaque due to the ire of some Mexican who was expressing his hatred of Cortés, an attitude that most Mexicans have held for centuries.
Humanities question: If this monument were part of the Maya culture, what could it be likend to?
