Coyoacán: Museo de las Intervenciones (1)

image

Source: Photographs by WTL© (2016) on site at the Museo de las Intervenciones, Coyoacán, México.
Image: This photo shows the entrance to the former convent and now museum. The site is still surrounded on all four sides by a large and tall stone wall. Opposite this museum entrance is the more elegant and imposing original convent entrance. On that side of the compound there are now official government offices. In addition, the convent's church is still a functioning Catholic church, a function that was restored in the middle of the twentieth century, following the Mexican secularization of church property in the 19th century.
