Comments: Here you see the statue of St. Gabriel (San Gabriel) high above the high altar. You also see the interior rib vaulting and Gothic tracery, styles that contrast markedly with the stark Renaissance exterior. Note that the gold is pure gold leaf, obtained, of course, from the Conquest.
