Uxmal (9)

Source: WTL photographs© on site at Uxmal Archeological site in Mexico.
Notes: From where I was standing in the preceeding page (<= Uxmal #8), I turned around (south) to look at the precarious place I was standing, and I saw other pyramids and ruins on the Uxmal site (left photo). We shall visit these sites shortly. The sun had come out momentarily, but the clouds were still threatening. The temple of Chaac is smack dab on my left. Then I looked up and saw myself threatened (?) by sheer pre-Columbian admiratio, the Chenes style of façade decoration where virtually the entire surface was covered with symbolic carving. (See: <= Latin American Terminology #6 for a definition of admiratio.)
