Notes: From the top of the pyramid the professor-tourist-photographer looked out and saw the very flat and tropical landscape of this region of Yucatán. In the far distance we see the outline of the mountainous (Puuc) Mayan region of of Yucatán.
Comment: I was on top of the pyramid, weaing leather street shoes, carrying expensive camera equipment, and it was obvious that, late this afternoon, the clouds were gathering for a tropical storm.
Questions: to what Mayan god, precisely, was this pyramid dedicated? Where was I? What was I doing there?
