Tikal (11a)

Source: Peter D. Harrison, The Lords of Tikal (1999), p. 135.
Comments: This is a Maya mosaic container covered in jade pieces. Archeologists suspect, but cannot prove conclusively, that it represents a woman, who, due to where it was found at Tikal and its antiquity, apparently is Hasaw Chan K'awil's wife, Lady Twelve Macaw, to whom Temple I is dedicated.
Humanities question: Describe this jade vessel and relate it to other Maya objets d'art (see: => Mayan Art Index).
