Guatemala City (10)

Source: WTL© digital photograph (2008) taken on site at the Palacio Nacional.
Comments: At the magnificent wrought iron entrance to the Palacio Nacional. The photographer had two ideas when he took this photo: (1) to illustrate the elegance and quality of the marble floor, granite column, and wrought iron gate; and (2) to take a photo of (adorable) Guatemalan children, which is something that foreigners should avoid, because Guatemalan parents are deeply suspicious that foreigners intend to either kidnap or forcefully adopt their children. In other words, one has to know about the Guatemalan cultural context while interpreting this image.
Embedded images: For a few more views around these children, see: => Guate City #10a.
