Guatemala City (2)

Comments: On the left is the Iglesia de San Francisco (St. Francis Catholic Church) and in the center and on the right, behing the trees and beyond the fence, is the National Police Headquarters. During Guatemala's most recent civil war (1960-1996), which was extremely violent, the police headquarters is where political prisoners were incarcerated, questioned, tortured, and "disappeared."
Humanities question: What do you think of the contiguity or juxtaposition of these two buildings and what they represent?
