Comment: As we contine down the Cuban Memorial Plaza on 13th Street, we next see this scene at the center of which is a statue of the Mother and Child (Virgin Mary and Baby Jesus). At the foot of the statue is a bouquet of flower honoring St. Mary, the statue, and, of course, the kind of religion they are an integral part of. The vast majority of Cubans and Cuban Americans are Roman Catholics, a fact attested to in Calle Ocho #3, but the percentage of evangelical Protestant Cubans is growing rapidly.
