Fort Matanzas (10)

Image: Here you see a park employee dressed in an authentic eighteenth-century Spanish soldier's uniform with his hand resting on a cannon from the period. Soldiers spent one-month tours at the fort, coming from San
Agustín. Normally, the fort was manned by a cabo (officer), four infantrymen, and two who manned the guns. The fort was designed for a maximum of 50 men. When you visit the fort, talk to to this costumed employee: he's pretty well informed.
