Comment: As you see in this photo, the main hall of the Brazilian Chamber of Deputies is built in a very modern style. Brazil is a federal republic. It's official name is República Federativa do Brasil. The executive branch is headed by the chief of state, who serves a four-year term. The current president (2015) is Dilma Roussef. Brazil has a judicial branch and a bicameral legislative branch in the Congresso Nacional. The Senado Federal has 81 seats, three from each of Brazil's 27 states. The Câmara dos Diputados has 513 seats distributed by proportional representation. The Brazilian currency is the Brazilian real.
