Notes: Here you see a tourist sitting on a bench outside one of the museum's exhibition rooms. Next to the entrance to each room a quotation from a pre-Columbian document is incised in the granite walls. This quotation is from the Popol Vuh (ca. 600 C.E.). It says:

Let there be light!
Let morning appear in heaven and on the earth!
There shall be neither glory nor greatness
Until a human being is created:
A fully formed human.
